    Peer Support Specialist - Summit County

     

    Are you inspired by helping others?  Have you lived through the difficulty of battling a mental illness and won?  We are seeking a responsible, enthusiastic Peer Support Specialist for our A&D Summit Program in Park City. Be a bright light of hope and healing as a mentor for adults who struggle with Behavioral Health issues. 

     

    Valley Summit County is the community mental health authority for Summit County. We provide services for all residents with various funding sources. Nestled along the Wasatch Back of Utah, Summit County is a scenic spot for outdoor enthusiasts.

    Valley provides all services for county residents either directly or indirectly with partners in Summit and Salt Lake County.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Assist A&D clients in using coping strategies to deal with their A&D issues.
    • Assist in coordinating treatment with therapists and case managers.
    • Support our A&D clients to meet their needs.
    • Understand the EHR and how to enter notes.
    • Reliable schedule

     

    Qualifications:  

    • Needs to have a past history with A&D issues thus a peer to the clients.
    • A&D issues are under control.
    • Preferably a former VBH client.
    • Understand the issues in dealing with alcohol and drugs.
    • Must have Peer Support Certificate.
