    Insurance Verification Specialist

    The Revenue Cycle department provides behavioral health billing and collection processes by verifying eligibility and benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations, requesting payments and resolving account issues. The Insurance Verification Specialist will act as a liaison between Valley Behavioral Health and our commercial insurance providers to negotiate, maintain and monitor optimal rates for reimbursement.

     

    Schedule: M-F, 8a-5p (Full-time/Full benefits)

    Location: 1141 East 3900 South Salt Lake City 84124

    Pay: Commensurate with experience

    Responsibilities:

    • Verify insurance eligibility for upcoming patient appointments via the phone or insurance website.
    • Confirms demographic and insurance information and updates systems as needed.
    • Determines necessity for pre-authorization and obtains authorization for scheduled procedures via phone, website or form.
    • Keeps team members informed of insurance changes.
    • Educates applicable Program and or Business Managers regarding payor changes.
    • Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

     

     

    Qualifications: 

    • 2+ years’ experience and/or education in billing of commercial insurance in healthcare.
    • Demonstrate human relations and effective communication skills
    • Excellent Computer skills
    • Follows all organization policies and procedures
    • Meets required productivity standards if applicable and other organizational expectations
