    We are currently seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual for the role of Operations Manager within our ValleyLab. This rewarding role will entail providing leadership to lab personnel and overseeing all laboratory operations, to include the oversight and enforcement of laboratory procedures relating to safety, certification, compliance. Ultimately, this position will ensure that laboratory services provided are of the highest quality, are cost contained, and are carried out in an effective and responsive manner.

     

    About the Role & Responsibilities: 

     

    Leadership: Provide continual and proactive leadership to assigned personnel through continual, general and direct supervision, staff meetings, time management, and workload distribution. Provide timely responses to personnel and operational issues, as well as timely updates to Valley Leadership on all matters related to the laboratory.

    Organizational Effectiveness: Improve and implement systems/procedures that promote the company’s vision and drive laboratory operations toward operational excellence. Monitor and respond to monthly volumes, utilization, financial, operational and quality metrics. Ensure KPIs are met.

    Turnaround time management (TAT): Implement and design laboratory workflow processes and efficient testing schedules to ensure timely delivery of test results.

    Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, align and review laboratory operating policies and procedures and ensure they are in accordance with both organization policies and requirements of regulatory agencies.

    Finance & Budgeting: Monitor, analyze and correct budget variances on an ongoing basis; Analyze fiscal needs and prepare justification as necessary. Monitor the supply and reagent inventory to ensure the laboratory is adequately stocked.

    Team Development & Management: Provide timely, accurate, and objective employee performance evaluations, feedback, training and competencies. In doing so promote an environment of professional growth and development.

    Regulatory Compliance: Uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations, policies, waste and abuse laws, and codes of conduct relative to laboratory operations. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and appropriate licensing/accrediting agencies in areas of service, personnel and facilities.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree
    • 3+ years management in Laboratory Services operations
    • 3 years of leadership and operations management experience
    • Prior experience in generalist supervisory capacity strongly preferred

    The ideal candidate would possess:

    • Master of Business Administration
    • Expertise in field and leadership skills
    • Ability to effectively leverage various forms of communication
    • Willingness to equally lead and assist their team in maintaining operations
    • Experience: Operations planning, business acumen and personnel management
