The Billing Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring proper payment and reimbursement is made for the valuable services Valley Behavioral Health provides to our communities. This full-time position within our Revenue Cycle Department is great for someone with acute attention to detail and a commitment to excellence!

The Revenue Cycle department provides behavioral health billing and collection processes by verifying eligibility and benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations, requesting payments and resolving account issues. This position will act as a liaison between Valley Behavioral Health and our commercial insurance providers to negotiate, maintain and monitor optimal rates for reimbursement. 

Schedule:  Monday - Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm

Location:  1141 East 3900 South Salt Lake City 84124

Pay:  Depending on Experience

• Contacts patients and insurance companies for payments requests, denied claims and makes payment plan arrangements
• Ensure accurate and timely billing
• Contacts insurance companies for explanation of benefits, pre-authorizations and to resolve claim issues
• Produces reports to reduce age trial balances by contacting patients and/or insurance companies for collection or sending secondary claims
• Calls patients and/or insurance companies to follow-up with account information
• Ensure compliance with commercial insurance reimbursement rules and regulations as they pertain to behavioral health care.

• Have 2+ years’ experience and/or education in billing of commercial insurance in healthcare
• Are able to monitor, maintain and negotiate master billing table of rates with each insurance provider
• Are able to understand and organize the reimbursement of individual insurance providers
• Can demonstrate human relations and effective communication skills
• Possess excellent computer skills
• Follow all organization policies and procedures
• Meet required productivity standards if applicable and other organizational expectations
