Valley Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time, compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Clinical Social Worker (CSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LSCW).  This would be a unique and innovative position working in direct partnership as an embedded team member with the Department of Public Safety (Utah Highway Patrol).    


    The purpose of this amazing program is to help improve the quality of life for individuals experiencing homelessness with co-occurring disorders and severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). This serves as an entry point into treatment for those who are reluctant to try traditional mental health options.

    Location: 550 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84101
    Schedule:  40 hours: M-F
    Pay: We pay competitively and commensurate with experience

    • Work directly with law enforcement to serve as the dedicated resource for available programs and services within the State
    • Serve as a liaison to the Department of Public Safety on social service related changes and initiatives that may impact those individuals they are encountering
    • Crisis de-escalation, brief intervention and triage of individuals with an ability to quickly navigate a complex mental health system
    • Brief assessment of client need and connection with the appropriate organization and level of care
    • Accept and triage daily referrals made by officers of identified individuals in need of a “hand up”
    • Strong community collaboration and outreach skills are necessary for this position


    • Master's degree or higher in Social Work or Clinical Mental Health Counseling from an accredited University/College
    • CSW or ACMHC license current in the State of Utah
    • Must be 21+
    • Must demonstrate compassion, flexibility and dependability
    • Must have ability to pass a background check
