We are seeking a full-time, responsible, dedicated Chef for our Pheasant Hollow program.  This program provides alternative housing for adults with physical disabilities or brain injuries who desire to live independently yet, otherwise would require a skilled nursing facility.

 

Location: 4125 South 900 East Salt Lake City, Utah 84124

 

Schedule:  Sun – Thu, 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.   Holidays required and weekends in emergencies

 

Pay:  $16.00/hour

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve good, appetizing and nutritious meals from scratch for, up to, 30 adults
  • Responsible for all ordering, acquisition and inventory of food and supplies while maintaining a budget
  • Responsible for doing the weekly shopping at Sam’s and periodically Smith’s
  • Responsible for keeping a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room, interacting with State Inspectors and insuring compliance with inspection findings
  • Responsible for serving lunch and dinner in a timely and appetizing manner

Qualifications

  • Certified Food Manager with ServSafe Certificate preferred, but must be able to obtain this license within 1 month of employment
  • Must be creative, dependable, have excellent judgment and proven organizational skills
  • Must be able to cook good tasting, nutritious meals from scratch and on a budget
  • Must have a pleasant, cooperative temperament while maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
  • Must have 1 year of education or full time, paid experience as a chef
  • Must have proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have proven ability to manage other employees and insure shift coverage
