Our Carmen B. Pingree Center of Learning’s Expanding Horizons Preschool and Child Development Center is looking for energetic and caring individuals to work with children between the ages of two months to 5 years of age.  The program is a community childcare and preschool that emphasizes a Developmentally Appropriate Practice environment for children.

Location:  780 South Guardsman Way (1500 East), SLC, 84108

 

Schedule:  Variable M-TH between the hours of 7:30 am – 5:30 pm

 

Pay:  $10.60/hr

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for care and safety of infants and children in the child care facility: including feeding, diapering, toilet training, holding, playing with, and nurturing the children.
  • Daily cleaning of the child care facility
  • Assist in developing and providing Developmentally Appropriate Practice curriculum
  • Providing an aesthetically pleasing, clean, and welcoming environment by displaying children's artwork, interesting bulletin boards, cleaned and sanitized toys, etc.
  • Participating in on going staff training and staff meetings
  • Assisting in preschool setting and playing with children and helping lead teachers with centers, curriculum, etc.
  • Supporting children from the autism preschool when they are in the classroom for inclusion
  • Helping children with developmental skills and scaffolding learning
  • Being responsible for children and providing activities during the children's day

Qualifications

  • 2+ years working with children
  • Nurturing, patient, kind disposition
  • Team-focused caregiver
