The Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning is seeking a patient, kind, hard-working individual who cares about being a positive influence in the lives of children with autism and their families. This position provides behavioral support and stability in our classrooms.
Location: 780 South Guardsman Way, SLC, UT  84108
Schedule: Part-Time M-F; 30-36 Hrs/week
                 Mon - Thurs 8am - 3pm OR
                 Fri 8am - 12pm with 2 bus rides
Pay:  $10.60/hr

Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning is a professional, therapeutic services organization with 90+ team members operating 19 classrooms that provide a comprehensive menu of treatment and services for ages 2-19 experiencing autism and co-occurring mental health disorders. We have a well trained and caring staff of teachers, aides, assistants, psychiatrist, and speech pathologist. We are a Utah based company with operations located in Salt Lake City.
We are deeply committed to our employees and provide intensive training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including discrete trial training and behavior management techniques.  As you take advantage of these trainings there are periodic pay increases available as well as opportunities for advancement.

  • Assist teachers in providing behavior management training for children with autism.
  • Classroom size is typically 10-12 children.
  • Duties may include free-choice, play activities, games, gym time and instructional sessions.
  • Help children follow directions.
  • Assist teachers with implementing social skills development with activities such as dramatic play, social games that incorporate turn taking and sharing and outdoor play.
  • Assist with self-help and care routines such as snack, lunch, tooth brushing, toileting and eating skills.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation.
  • Ride and assist with behavior management on the bus 2 runs/wk

  • No experience required
  • Must be dependable, organized and observant.
  • Work well as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to keep accurate documentation.
  • University students pursuing a future career in this area are encouraged to apply as this is an excellent avenue for gaining specialized and practical experience.
